Director’s Note

It is difficult to believe that almost two years have passed since our last live Cabaret where we celebrated songs from Disney in November 2019. During this time, we truly became aware of what we were most grateful of and solidified the idea of family.

While many things have changed, our love for music has not. That is why I believe music is a gift: it helps remind us of who and what we are -- and, maybe, what we will become. What a better way to understand each other than to experience the rich and robust sampling of music from these beloved Broadway shows. Our students can now share in these stories of perseverance with the likes of Coalhouse Walker from Ragtime or Motormouth Maybelle from Hairspray. These students can laugh along with the outrageous antics of King George III or be transported back in time when Queen Morgan Le Fay bumped off her husbands in A Connecticut Yankee. We hope this music makes your heart dance -- from Mamma Mia to Something Rotten, this will be a show for the books.

I cannot tell you what this performance means to me and Mrs. McCravy and our students. Thank you for being a part of the magic we hope to bring back to the stage today. Thank you for the music.

Roxan Silva
Director, Encore Choir

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Encore Choir Booster Club

The mission of Encore Choir is to nurture students through a quality music education in which students gain musical skills and a life-long appreciation of music. Through a continued pursuit of excellence, we strive to inspire and educate while modeling professionalism and artistry.

“TAKE A SEAT” CAMPAIGN

Sponsoring a seat is one of the very best ways you can help support the continued success of the Encore Choir. Your donation provides the department with essential production and maintenance funds, while serving as a lasting tribute to the person, cause, or occasion of your choice.

Years from now, as future students gather for a production or assembly in the Performing Arts Center, they will see donor names on the seats. We invite you to “take a seat.”

You can sponsor a seat for a donation of $60. Your gift is commemorated with a plaque engraved with the text of your choice. Email encorechoir@yahoo.com for more information. All proceeds benefit Dawson Encore Choir.
